Advanced training and more at the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport conference centre
Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, 12. February 2004 - The new "Hahn Airport Business Academy" presented itself on the occasion of today's open day that was organised by the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport conference centre. From March 2004, the subsidiary of Deutsche Angestellten Akademie GmbH (DAA) – the German Employee Academy - will offer companies in the region and around Frankfurt-Hahn Airport numerous attractive advanced training opportunities and seminars.
At today's open day, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport GmbH presented itself as the new operator of the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport conference centre, following the transfer on 1 January 2004 from the Steigenberger Group. A wide range of conference options across more than 1,300 square metres, including 13 conference rooms with a capacity of up to 100 persons, was presented. In addition, the "Hahn Airport Business Academy", which is a subsidiary of Deutsche Angestellten Akademie GmbH (DAA) and will commence operations in March 2004, made its debut. The Hahn Airport Business Academy has been a tenant at the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport conference centre since 1 January 2004.
DAA has already been operating at the Hahn conference centre since December 2000, holding regularly seminars in a variety of areas for its customers. Through DAA's more than 50 years of experience across Germany with professional development, seminars and training sessions, Hahn Airport Business Academy is utilising the synergy effects with its parent company to try and attract companies based in the Rhine-Main region and at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. The provision of the premises and professional assistance from the team of the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport conference centre is part of a joint strategy for increasing the utilisation of the centre.
From March, the "Hahn Airport Business Academy" will offer seminars ranging from management, business management and languages to personal development, IT and internet-based training. Companies and organisations will be offered individually designed training, but also open training sessions that are compiled six months in advance in the form of a seminar diary. The internet-based training sessions will enable participants to gain insights into the wide range of options offered by the Microsoft Office package or certain accounting or SAP modules, independent of time and space and with professional support from the Hahn Airport Business Academy team.
Apart from the capacity and what is on offer, the infrastructure also plays an important role. The B50 trunk road to the airport and the access road to the terminals are currently being upgraded and will shortly provide quicker transfer to the conference centre. Free shuttle buses between the terminals and the conference centre are available. The InterCityHotel Hahn Airport - former Steigenberger Esprix hotel - has 35 double rooms that can also be used as single rooms and is located directly adjacent to the conference centre. Prices start at 55 euros per person, including breakfast. A wide range of additional accommodation is available within the region around Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. The central location and the proximity to Frankfurt-Hahn Airport and the Rhine-Main, Rhine-Ruhr and Saar-Lor-Lux regions are additional attractions for international business people and conference participants. The current offer of 28 scheduled flights per day to vibrant European cities and numerous charter flights to popular holiday destinations create further appeal, not least for incentive trips.

Information about the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport conference centre
In addition to the 13 conference rooms on two levels, ranging in size from 48 square metres to 146 square metres, organisers also have the option of utilising a 400 square metre auditorium for meetings or conferences. All conference rooms benefit from natural daylight. The technical portfolio offers anything conference participants may wish for, including flip charts, overhead projectors or whiteboards. Furthermore, IT rooms with a total of twelve workstations with internet access are available. Individual technical requirements can be catered for. The location of the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport conference centre is also ideal for outdoor activities. A wide range of supporting programme options is available. Daily rates for the conference rooms range between 50 and 150 euros, depending on size. The additional fixed rate per person is 28.50 euros, which includes two drinks, coffee, tea and snacks in the morning, a three-course lunch including mineral water and hot drinks, as well as coffee, tea and cakes in the afternoon.
