Frankfurt-Hahn Airport: Insolvency proceedings opened on 1 February

Investor process underway – indicative offers received

The insolvency proceedings of the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport Group were opened on 1 February by the Bad Kreuznach Insolvency Court. As insolvency administrator, the court appointed the former provisional insolvency administrator, attorney-at-law Dr. Jan Markus Plathner of the law firm Brinkmann & Partner.

Through immediately initiated reorganisation measures the insolvency administrator ensured that airport operations could continue for the time being. Dr Plathner emphasises: “We are pleased about this small partial success. However, we have to examine how long operations can be maintained. This will depend on how much support we receive from all stakeholders.”

The first indicative offers were received at the end of January and are currently being evaluated. In this context, the insolvency administrator asks for understanding that he cannot give any detailed information. “I would like to thank the workforce, the works councils, the trade unions, the customers and suppliers and all other parties involved, who have made this first partial success possible, for their support,” says Dr Jan Markus Plathner.
