The Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate Association of the German Association for Freight Forwarding and Logis-tics visits Hahn
Frankfurt-Hahn Airport GmbH, 30th April 2004 – Top-forwarders of the Association for Freight Forwarding and Logistics, Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate e.V., visited the vibrant airport Frankfurt-Hahn today, Friday the 30th of April 2004. The airport presented the latest cargo developments and the future perspectives.
Included among the guests were the haulage companies Bachmann, Cargoliner, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, Menlo Worldwide, KN Airlift and Schenker Deutschland. They met with cargo airlines like Air France Cargo, Aeroflot, Egyptair, Iran Air, Royal Jordanian and MNG Airlines, who partly have all been operating for years at the successful low-cost airport in Rhineland-Palatinate. The participants gained a comprehensive insight of the cargo handling terminals of the freight handling company A.C.L. and the carrier Air France Cargo. The latter company has been based at Hahn since 1997.
“The Airfreight sector is steadily increasing in importance, because it is above all an early indicator for the development of our economy", said Thorsten Hölser, General Manager of the Association for Freight Forwarding and Logistics in Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate. "It's our aim as an Association to help our member companies to gain more synergies, rationalisa-tion potential and opportunities for cooperation. Frankfurt-Hahn, stable at number 4 in the ratings list for Germany, is one of the most important German cargo airports.
“Most of us are familiar with Hahn, but we haven't really noticed the full extent of its development. Which new airlines or which current and potential cargo reserves are available for our members - those were our major queries. We also wanted to reinforce talks between Hahn and our air freight carriers in Hesse", he said. Mr. Hölser continued by saying that for individ-ual and special services, Hahn was a potential choice for the member companies to make freight transport businesses more efficient and economical. Especially Hahn's 24-hour operating licence and its flexible processing procedures played a major role.
