Cologne-Bonn prices on the up – nd Hhn cts agn!

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is again cutting its parking fees. Two weeks ago the airport operator announced that it would be slashing prices for parking in P7 from €7.00 to €2.50 a day. Now the tariff for car park P2 is also to be reduced – from the present €12 to €7 per day. The first week in P2 costs €40, with just €25 (instead of €30.00) levied for each consecutive week. P2 is very close to the passenger terminal and within easy walking distance. The new prices are valid from 10th July, 2009. Parking spaces can be booked in advance on the airport website, www.hahn-airport.de.

"Since we announced that we were cutting prices, bookings have boomed. We have thus decided to include P2 in our price cuts", says Jörg Schumacher, Management Spokesman of Flughafen Frankfurt-Hahn GmbH. He expects the number of prebookings to rise even further with the publication of today's announcement. He also has an extra-special treat for passengers from Cologne. "Just recently Cologne-Bonn Airport put up its prices so that they are almost level with Frankfurt. We're thus waiving the parking fee for the first day in P2 for all passengers from Cologne who book a space here in the next two weeks." This special offer is valid for all passengers with a Cologne registration number who reserve a space in P2 between 10th and 24th July, 2009, and who travel this year (by 31st December, 2009, at the latest). The fee will be redeemable in the form of a voucher which can either be used at the shops or restaurants in the terminal building or exchanged for cash at the airport company's information desk.

So that your journey is as relaxing as possible, the airport management recommend that you leave ample time for travelling and first drive up to the terminal in your car to drop off your fellow passengers and their luggage. For this purpose the first 15 minutes in car park P0 right outside the terminal are free. The driver can then go and park the car and is back at the terminal in a matter of minutes – either on foot or on the free shuttle bus.

Hahn also has a brand new facility for hotel minibuses and other external shuttle services: an exclusive shuttle bus stop at the airport's bus station. "This has several advantages", says Schumacher. "People using the shuttle now have a central, clearly marked collection point. At the same time this will help ease the traffic on the terminal service road."
