Biggest cargo month of all time

13th December 2010. With 20,053 tons of airfreight (flown cargo excluding transit) handled in November of this year, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has broken its own record. This figure amounts to an increase of about 24% on Hahn's previous record month of November 2009. From January to November 2010, 149,808 tons were either loaded or unloaded at Hahn – more than ever before. In this segment the German airport is thus 57% up on the comparable period of the previous year.

Highly efficient and prepared for the future

With the symbolic handover of a silver key to the operator of the fuel depot TGFH (Tanklager-Gesellschaft Frankfurt-Hahn GbR), airport Management Director Joerg Schumacher now officially opened the airport's recently extended depot. Many guests attended the ceremony in a marquee specially erected for the occasion.

Airbus A330-200F lands at hahn-airport for the first time

58.8 metres long x 60.3 metres wide (ca. 193 x 198 ft) are the vital statistics of the new freight version of the modern and efficient A300-200F Airbus. The first owner of this new type of aircraft is the cargo airline Etihad Crystal Cargo from the United Arab Emirates who first landed this impressive aircraft at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport on 8th September. Hahn is also the first European airport to which the A300-200F is operating scheduled flights

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport's corporate design proves convincing

In March 2010 Frankfurt-Hahn Airport launched its new corporate design: youthful, bright and up to the minute. Its very individual identity has now earned the airport in the Hunsrück the coveted red dot design award in the category communication design 2010. The internationally recognized competition has as its prize a red dot which is treated as a mark of good design quality in expert circles.

Statue of Liberty and Harvard University now within easy reach

From June 2011 Iceland's low-cost airline Iceland Express will be taking off twice a week from Frankfurt-Hahn Airport for the United States. Online bookings for the Big Apple and the East Coast metropolis of Boston can already be made now.

Minister praises "brilliant logistical achievement"

Hahn Airport, 20th April 2010. Within the space of just a few hours Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has set up a major building site and begun renewing the surface of the runway, a task originally scheduled for the summer. One kilometre or a total of 42,000 square metres of runway (just over half a mile or ca. 138,000 square feet) are to be finished by Wednesday morning. The decision was made on Monday morning; by 11 p.m. 100 people, 50 articulated lorries, five large grooving machines and four asphalt pavers were already in action. This makes good use of the quiet period caused by the cloud of volcanic ash.

New logo, new design

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has a new corporate design. The airport will be presenting itself under its new logo for the first time at the ITB trade fair in Berlin from 10–14 March 2010. The new logo is to be ceremoniously unveiled at the fair today.

Results exceed expectations

Hahn Airport, 8th January 2010. In December 2009 Frankfurt-Hahn Airport recorded a turnover in cargo of 17,868 metric tonnes – a further improvement in this sector of thirty-seven percent compared to the previous year. Hahn had already achieved its own personal record in November with 21,660 tonnes of cargo flown. The Rhineland-Palatinate airport has thus brought a year marked by economic crisis to an outstanding close.
