Take off with the summer season

Attractive destinations - Green islands - Antalya - Lourdes - Palma de Mallorca - Yet more islands - Positive development

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, 04 May 2001. Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is taking off into the summer season with some attractive travel destinations. Alongside the German’s best loved holiday resort - Palma de Mallorca – the destinations of Antalya, Lourdes, the Channel Islands Jersey and Guernsey as well as London, Glasgow-Prestwick and Shannon can all be found in the timetable.

To the Green Islands with Wolters
A completely new destination on offer this year is the Channel Islands. The renowned German travel agent, Wolters Reisen, is offering direct flights from Frankfurt-Hahn Airport to Jersey and Guernsey. In the period between 05 May and 22 September, a Fokker 50 belonging to the Dutch-Belgian airline VLM Airlines will take off every Saturday for the sun-drenched islands between France and England.

Holiday travel to Antalya >/br> Also appearing in the program for the first time is the Direkt Reise Service travel agency. With flights to the Turkish Riviera on a 14-day cycle it has a charming holiday product to offer. Every Wednesday a Hamburg International Boeing 737-700 flies to Antalya.

Further information can be obtained by calling +49 (0)6805 - 8103.

Pilgrimages to Lourdes
Short excursions to Lourdes are organised by the Bavarian agency, Pilgerbüro e.V. On several dates during the summer months and in September anybody interested can fly from Frankfurt-Hahn to the place of pilgrimage at the foot of the Pyrenees. For information and bookings ring +49 (0)89 - 54 58 110.

To Palma de Mallorca with TUI
As before, the champion of summer destinations is the Balearic island of Mallorca. Every Friday an Air Europa Boeing 737-800 under contract to TUI takes off for Spain. The largest German travel agency, TUI Touristik Union International, has been offering air travel from Hahn to Palma de Mallorca since as long ago as 1993. This offer has been so popular that in May TUI will be laying on additional capacity.

Yet more islands
Great Britain and Ireland also open up a multitude of holiday possibilities. In this regard, Ryanair’s flights to London, Glasgow in Scotland and Shannon in Ireland have been a familiar feature of the timetable for the last two years. Bookings can be made via the German reservations hotline 0180 / 500 22 29 (DM 0.24 / minute) or on the website www.ryanair.com.

Positive development
With this interesting array of travel opportunities, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is continuing the positive development of the previous year. The success is shown by the passenger figures. In the months of January to April 2001 alone, Hahn can list 132,075 passengers – that is almost twice as many as in the comparable period of the previous year. The Airport Administration Company is expecting half a million passengers by the end of the year.

Consistent with this, the services on offer at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport are also being extended. The passenger terminal is being expanded to twice its size. Many services – from car rental via automatic banking machines to souvenir shops – will be on offer in the terminal. About 1,500 free parking spaces will be available to passengers. The four-lane extension to the B 50 and with it the connection to the motorway network is coming on apace. The bus feeder service is being continually improved. The creation of a rail connection is of decisive importance for the further development of Frankfurt-Hahn Airport and this high-priority project is to be implemented within the shortest possible time.

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has brought together the current timetable, bus times and services information in a passenger brochure. Passenger Info 2001 can be requested by ringing +49 (0)6543 - 509 525. In addition, all information can be found on the Internet at www.hahn-airport.de.
