Biggest cargo month of all time at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport
Hahn Airport, 4th December 2009. After a new monthly record was reached for October, when 16,698 metric tonnes of cargo were flown, November has now beaten the previous month by a further thirty percent. With 21,660 metric tonnes of cargo transported in November, more went through the airport in Rhineland-Palatinate than ever before.
"After getting a very good result for October, an increase of thirty percent is excellent," is minister of transport Hering's verdict on the achieved record. "The good start to the Christmas season and the outstanding capacities of the Air Cargo Germany airline based at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport are considerable factors behind this new record," Hering continues. Compared to November 2008, when 15,885 metric tonnes of cargo were processed through Hahn Airport, the result is a good 36 percent above the value for the previous year.
