Construction of New Economy Hotel to Begin in Spring

Hahn Airport, March 14, 2006 - The expansion of the infrastructure at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport continues. A new, two-star economy hotel will be built immediately in front of the terminal, on Parking Lot P1. Construction will commence in the spring of 2006 and the grand opening is planned for one year later, in the spring of 2007. Flughafen-Hotel GmbH & Co. KG, a project company of OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH (www.ofb.de), a subsidiary of Helaba Immobiliengruppe), is acting as leaseholder and lessor of the 4000 sqm property. A contract has been signed with B&B Hotels GmbH to manage the hotel under the name of B&B Hotels (www.hotelbb.com). The total cost of investment will be nearly eight million euros.

This new, two-star hotel added to the B&B Hotel chain at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport will have 5 floors and 109 rooms including two conference rooms. The average room will be around fifteen square meters in size and will offer everything guests need including a good bed, a desk, television, telephone with internet connection, and a fully tiled bathroom with shower and toilet. All rooms will be air conditioned. Somewhat larger family rooms will also be available to travelers. The conference rooms are suited for small presentations, as well as for business meetings in a professional atmosphere. The budget hotel will have a large breakfast area. The average room price will start at € 40 per night plus an optional breakfast buffet for € 6. Parking facilities with around 400 public parking spaces and 50 for hotel guests is also planned in addition to the hotel.

"We have been able to win over an ideal partner to match the low-cost concept of Frankfurt-Hahn Airport in B&B Hotel GmbH and its B&B Hotel chain," says Stefano Wulf, Managing Director of Flughafen Frankfurt-Hahn GmbH. The innovative concept of the hotel group aims at the economy sector and works on the principle of offering 'more comfort for less money'. Thus meeting the needs of business and vacation travelers, the B&B Hotel brand proves that 'low-cost' must by no means also imply a neglect of style and quality. Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, heavily frequented by low-cost travelers from all over Europe and an ongoing engine of growth, would be an ideal location for the B&B Hotel Group.

B&B Hotels GmbH is a subsidiary of the French Groupe B&B Hotels S.A., a chain that already has eight hotels in Germany in addition to 111 hotels in France. In 2006, four more hotels are planned to open with an advanced design concept, two each in Frankfurt and Munich – just in time for the Soccer World Cup.
