Even more destinations to sun and snow from Frankfurt-Hahn

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, 28 October 2004. New destinations and increased flight frequencies embellish the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport winter-flight schedule: Along with the new destinations Riga, Santander and Klagenfurt from Ryanair, Berge&Meer travels to the Turkish Riviera with Antalya as the destination airport. Every Monday and Friday, the tour operator FlyCar flies snow hungry vacationers to Arvidsjaur, located in the Swedish Lapland. And Air Polonia lets Warsaw send its regards almost daily. A total of 395 arrivals and departures to 25 destinations – an average of about 60 flights per day – are ready for the price-conscious Hahn passengers from 31 October to April 2005. More information about destinations and flight times can be obtained at www.hahn-airport.de.

Scheduled airline flights at pocket-money prices
Back in July Ryanair, Europe’s industry leader in cut-price air travel, announced two new routes – Riga and Santander – from Frankfurt-Hahn. These will be flown to daily with the start of the winter schedule on 31 October.

As the German base for Ryanair, Frankfurt-Hahn will be expanded by a sixth airplane-stationing on 1 March 2005: at the same time this means daily flights from Frankfurt-Hahn to Klagenfurt in Austria for the first time – and that at flight prices from 13.99 Euros.

The first Polish low-cost airline, Air Polonia, is boosting its flight frequency to Warsaw from two to six connections per week in winter – Saturday will be the only day without a flight there. The ticket fares start from as low as 23 Euro per person and route. The predicted trend toward low-cost air travel to Poland is bearing fruit in the Polish airline, already in the black since its founding in the first half-year of 2004.

The only downside: Volareweb, the Italian low-cost airline, is cutting its flights to and from Germany for a while - Frankfurt-Hahn and Berlin-Schönefeld – due to financial reasons, according to the airline. There were flights from Frankfurt-Hahn to Venice and Lamezia Terme in Calabria.

Charter flights to sun and snow
Berge & Meer, Germany’s largest direct tour operator, will once again be offering numerous package deals for Mediterranean travelers starting from Frankfurt-Hahn: From 3 November until the end of February 2005 there will be trips every Wednesday at 10.30am with Pegasus Airlines, one of the largest Turkish Charter airlines, to the Turkish Riviera: destination airport Antalya. Couples, friends, and families can look forward to the attractive travel treat starting from 199 Euros per person including flight, overnight stay and various excursions. Berge & Meer has been offering its customers package tours from Frankfurt-Hahn for over four years. Starting immediately, reservations can be made via the booking hotline at 01805-202055 (€ 0.12/min. from the Deutsche Telekom landline telephone network). Another off-beat travel destination from Frankfurt-Hahn in the winter is the town of Arvidsjaur in the Swedish Lapland, which is flown to winters every year by the charter- and event tour operator FlyCar, headquartered in Oppenheim - already in its fifth season. From 22 November to the end of March, an LTU airplane is deployed by FlyCar in the small town situated about 110 kilometers south of the Artic Circle, every Monday and Friday. The proffered trips are being offered in cooperation with some well-known tour operators such as TUI, Wolters Reisen, Dertour, Wikingerreisen, Nordic Holiday, ProEvent Reisen, ADAC, Seniorenreisen Schneider, the partner airline LTU, incentive tour operators, and numerous travel agencies. Whether overnight stays in an ICE hotel, dog sleds and snowmobile tours or ice fishing, wintertime fun is guaranteed.
