Navitrans handles night flights with Evergreen through Hahn

Since the end of August Navitrans has had goods flown to and from Shanghai from Frankfurt Hahn Airport on a weekly basis. Hahn has now been included in the Shanghai – New York – Frankfurt Hahn – Chengdu – Shanghai route. The flights are handled by the Navitrans headquarters in Frankfurt am Main.

Four new cargo airlines now flying from Hahn

This week Flughafen Frankfurt-Hahn GmbH entered into no less than four partnerships with the following freight airlines and logistics companies: Yangtze River Express (China), myCARGO (Turkey), Navitrans (China) and one of the largest freight airlines in the world from Japan. They will be starting immediately or from September with up to 10 flights a week. The acquisition of these new airlines shows just how interesting Hahn has become for international cargo handlers.

Last weekend, the air cargo magazine Air Cargo News honoured Frankfurt-Hahn Airport with the “Cargo Airport of the Year 2012” award in London. The airport scored with the highest freight growth in the category up to 300,000 t.

After the Leipzig verdict: Hahn as an alternative

The Leipzig Higher Administrative Court has confirmed the night flight ban for Frankfurt. Now Frankfurt-Hahn is thrust into the limelight: The airport, which is about 115 kilometres from Frankfurt/Main, has an unlimited operating licence and offers spare capacity for both passenger and also freight flights – by day and night. New AviaVox announcement system provides information in 16 lan-guages

A new computer voice informs passengers at Frankfurt Hahn Airport about the late arrival of aircraft or items left lying somewhere. The Dutch company AviaVox is positioning itself with its product in a German-speaking country for the first time. No other airport in Germany has the announcement system yet.

Garish pink and rich green – Frankfurt-Hahn airport is not afraid of colour

On 25th March Frankfurt-Hahn airport launched into summer 2012 with 61 travel destinations and a re-designed Terminal A. Ryanair has once more significantly increased its commitment. In total the Irish company is offering 55 flight destinations. And there are also some innovations in the terminal where the German Airport has shown that it is not afraid of colour.

Spend your summer holidays in Izmir with SunExpress

From the summer of 2012 Frankfurt Hahn Airport will have a direct link to Turkey, when Turkish airline SunExpress will be operating a service between Hahn and Izmir for the first time. In SunExpress the Hunsrück airport has gained a new passenger airline, with the first plane taking off for a Turkish holiday on the Mediterranean on 23rd June.

Cargo record for Frankfurt-Hahn Airport

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport ended 2011 with record results in the cargo sector. Last year, 286,416 metric tons of air freight (locally generated cargo plus transit) were handled by the German airport. This represents a 25% increase versus the previous year (228,547 tons). As expected, the number of passengers dropped by ca. 17%. In 2011 Frankfurt-Hahn was used by 2,894,363 travellers. This negative development was compensated for by the growth in air cargo; 5,122,727 traffic units were processed in 2011, which was almost identical to the figure for 2010 (5,135,151 units).
